Subject Blogs
The subject blogs are now available to staff via the my institution page on Blackboard. Feel free to browse yours and other subject areas and let us and the subject librarians know what you think of this resource. Feedback is really important in this trial, so please if you have a spare minute drop us an email with your views.
Podcasting.
The podcasting equipment has finally arrived and we have lined up a number of trials with lecturing staff to see how this new technology can best be utilised within the college. We still have lots of room left on the trial for others who would like to try out the technology, so please get in contact if your are interested.
Below is some examples of the current trials running in the college as well as those from other institutions.
*Recording of lectures, allowing students to easily access the recording as a revision aid, to catch up on missed lectures, etc.
*Asking students to record their own podcasts on, for example, project reports.
*Maximising the impact of talks by allowing seminars, lectures, conference presentations, etc. to be listened to by a wider audience.
*Recordings of meetings to provide access for people who could not attend.
*Enhancing the accessibility of an institution's courses to people with learning disabilities or language barriers
Once again if you have any questions or would just like to come and have a chat then don't hesitate to drop in or contact us :-)
